The statement “Where did they get pi from?” is a question implying:
1)How on earth did the Greek mathematicians arrive at 22 by 7?
2)The place (‘where’) from where some people (‘they’) got a thing called pi.
3)How did these people (they, who are presumably stupid) get the thing called pi?
4)I mean seriously, how on earth the Greek mathematicians arrived at 22 by 7?
5)Flush it, who cares / Open_Choice.

The value of pi was first calculated by an indian scientist aryabhatt. He found a relation between the perimeter of a circle and its diameter. (their ratio being constant for any size of circle and it was pi)
The 22/7 is just a near approximation of the exact value.(as the value can never be expressed in terms of x/y (x,y€R))
A better correct value can be find by 355/113
@Arjun...
Don't kill me after reading this...
Excuse, What the ....
